I have an issue with Quartus 12.1.
I downloaded the Altera installer to download and install Quartus II web edition (free) 12.1 and ModelSim from the top of the main download index on the Altera Website. (I would post the link here, but I cannot submit posts with URL's in them yet.) Before, I had tried downloading the same version of Quartus and Model Sim as separate items and tried installing them both. The installation completes, and even creates desktop icons for the programs. Quartus II will let me create new projects and open back up previous ones. When I try to add a new file to the project, the program completely shuts off on me. There was no error messages, no blue screen of death, nothing. The Moment I had clicked "Add" after selecting the type of file I wanted to create, Quartus II instantly closes/exits/shutsoff/quits on me. I checked my Task Manager every time. It showed no signs of Quartus still running. I have a Quad Core Processor on an Alien Ware computer. I'm running it on a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. I have tried using both the 64-bit version of Quartus and 32-bit version. I've had to uninstall and reinstall Quartus II and Modelsim at least 8 times by now. This is an issue I've been uninstalling and reinstalling them since Saturday. Every time I download the products from Altera's website, I use a one-time-access account, since I am a college student who is using Quartus II to build BlockDiagram/Schematic Files for my programming class. I know most of my other classmates have not been having this issue like I have. Does anyone have any ideas why it is acting up like this?Link Copied

--- Quote Start --- Did you try to stop antivirus soft and firewall? --- Quote End --- I don't think Norton is stopping it. Unless I'm missing something, it said the installation packages were safe, but nothing ever popped up saying the program was dangerous.
