The title of this article is "How do I get identical results from compilations in the Quartus Prime software?"
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/articles/000084189.html
It states "Note that the db and incremental_db directories must be identical from compilation to compilation to ensure identical results."
However the statement is a bullet point that is doubled tabbed underneath another statement, and I have just ran the build twice after deleting the db and incremental_db folders and got the same output programming files (Raw Binary Files).
Therefore are keeping and using the last db and incremental_db folders really needed to get identical results from compilations in the Quartus Prime software?
(They are big folders to store so I would rather they are not)
Thanks

Emery,
Yes only if you are using incremental compilation in your design.

That's for incremental compilation as the parent bullet says.
