Merging separate Quartus projects

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can tell me what the easiest method would be for merging two Quartus projects. I have a Nios2-based system that was started using the DE3 System Builder tool. I want to merge these settings with an example project provided by Terasic for the DE3. The SOPC builder system is easy enough to replicate by hand. Unfortunately, all of the Quartus II settings are not so easy to track.

I've been unsuccessful in attempting to move the example project settings to my system. Likewise, I could not easily merge my project settings into the example. Are there any utilities or "best practices" for merging two projects? There must be an easier way!

Thanks,

Jason

Yes, open one project, select "Project-> reorder project settings file (.qsf)" close it.

Open the other project and do the same.

Now use "beyondcompare" software to compare and merge both .qsf files.

Just google for beyondcompare or kdiff3
