Newbie. Recently installed Quartus II 10.1(Paid); it runs just fine. Then I installed ModelSim-Altera Web edition(free), added it to Quartus through EDA Tool Options and ran a compile on a simple project. But I get this error:
Error: Can't launch ModelSim-Altera Simulation software -- make sure the software is properly installed and the environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE or MGLS_LICENSE_FILE points to the correct license file. I know I don't need a license for the Web edition. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, OwkmannLink Copied

you're certain you have ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition installed?

Yes. ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition 6.6c. I had originally installed ModelSim paid version, but uninstalled it after realizing we did not have the license for it.
