I've noticed while going back and forth from Windows to Linux on a development machine, that Quartus on Linux complains that "parallel compilation is not licensed and has been disabled", while on Windows it uses 4 cores. Both web-editions. Any particular reasons why its more restricted on Linux?

I'm not sure about the Linux version but in Windows "talk back" must be enabled for parallel processing to be enabled.
