Partial reconfiguration problem in quartus 2

Hello every one ,

I just work on a project to design modular partial reconfigurable FPGA from ALtera kits. my eventual quartus II (13.1) does not support PR because of License problems .furthermore in programmer it seems that there is no way to use two bitfiles form two different projects so that runs in a series .instead asks for an other FPGA (device )

now at the first attempt , i need to consider just one project consist of 4 module partitions .hierby 2 of them as a one bit-file should work for a while and then these two modules should be replaced by another two module bit files .

i want to know how can i make two different bit files from a project , and if there would be a better way for PR in this way pls ?

very sincerely yours

From reading your post, I'm not sure you sufficiently understand partial reconfiguration. You shouldn't be having any license problems - you either have a license for your chosen device family or you don't. Partial reconfiguration also won't work with two configuration files from different projects.

Have a read of the partial reconfiguration ip core (https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_us/pdfs/literature/megafunctions/ug-partrecon.pdf) user guide. I hope it helps you understand PR a little more and which device families support it.

Cheers,

Alex

Alex didn't say explicitly in his post so note that the free web version of Quartus doesn't support partial re-configuration at all. You will need to use the paid version.
