Hi.
I'm trying to work with a Stratix II GX PCI Express development board (EP2SGX90F1508C3). I followed this tutorial:alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5893
(for ubuntu 9.04) But it doesn't work in ubuntu 10.04. In this version, /proc/bus/usb doesn't exist. Can anybody help me?? Besides, A friend of mine followed the same tutorial in his ubuntu 9.04, it work, but he is having troubles detecting the board. It seems to be a problem with The JTAG configuration, but the true is that we don't have a clue about what is happening. This is a terminal copy-paste: i46.tinypic.com/51zdiv.png
Thanks!!!.

On 9.04 there was a problem, because kernel support for usbfs was removed with a kernel update (somewhere version 14 and 17), I had to use an older kernel.
I do not know about 10.04 but it could be the same problem. Iztok- Mark as New

Yes, it's a known issue with Quartus, but there are workarounds (http://alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5893&page=2).
10.04 also has issues with IDE/qgui...though there's a simple solution (http://alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22481)for that, as well. Your "unable to scan" message could be due to permissions on the usb bus. I'll let you figure out how to fix that. There are several threads that explain this...one of them is the first one I posted here. :-) Cheers, -slacker
