Hello everybody,
I've checked the Altera New Qsys Issues Wiki and made some researches in this forum but I didn't find any answer for my issue. I'm currently using Qsys 15.0 (build 145) on Quartus II 64-bit v15.0.0 with Linux Ubuntu LTS 15.04. Since I'm a new in the Qsys world, I've tried to implement a straightforward "hello_world" using the NIOS II gen2 in a Altera V GX Stater Kit following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a_cd6fbroa (search Altera FPGA tutorial - "Hello World" using NIOS II processor on DE1 Board on youtube). I've a scrupulously followed the tutorial in my Qsys system, the only difference is that I have added a NIOS II gen2 /f (with no specific/exotic configuration) instead of the classic NIOS II /e. I have made the same connection as in the tutorial between the clk_0, nios2, onchip_ram, jtag_uart. Then I have applied menu "System" => "Assign Base Addresses" clearing all the remaining errors in the "Messages" box. Finally, when I click on the "Generate HDL ..." button, the generation goes well until I get the following errors : x Error: cpu: Failed to generate module NIOS_gen2_1_nios2_gen2_0_cpu x Error: Generation stopped, 38 or more modules remaining x Error: ip-generate failed with exit code 1: 2 Errors, 0 Warnings These are the only 3 error messages I get with no warning. I've tried the workaround found in the "New Qsys Issues" with no result => issue: NIOS generation fails using Quartus 11.0 on Ubuntu 11.04. This is caused by a missing locale. fix: sudo locale-gen en_US I would be very pleased if you can give me a hand with that. Even if you don't know the exact workaround, do you know how to access a more detailed error log for Qsys ? Maybe if there is one, I will be able to identificate more precisely my problem. Thanks a lot.Link Copied

Hello again,
After inspecting the Qsys log file qsys_proj.rpt it appeared that my Quartus licence does not comprise the NIOS license ! Sorry for the thread !
