Hi,

there is a SP2 available for Ouartus 9.0. Maybe that solves your problem.

Is it the first time you try to map your design on the FPGA ?

Kind regards

thanks for your reply,

with small designs , i don't have this problem , but when i start to compile a bigger designs this kind of Quartus II internal error come out.

the full compilation pass but after 5 or 6 attempts. so a compilation of 15 minutes takes more than 1 hour.

i tried to install SP2 but when i execute the install nothing happen , though i downloads the SP2 install from altera web site.

Hi,

you said "the full compilation pass but after 5 or 6 attempts" does that mean that the error doesn't occur in every run ?

Only to sort out where the problem comes from, can you choose a large e.g StratixIII device and try again ?

Kind regards

yes the error doesn't occur in every run. same problem for stratix III (in cyclone III i use only 8k of 3c120), i think it s a problem of RAM( i have 2 ram 512 and 1 1 G) or processor (Pentium D ). have you any idea of the system requirement when we target 3c120 and Quartus II 9.0

According to

quartus ii software device support release notes (http://www.altera.com/literature/rn/rn_qts_90sp2_dev_support.pdf

the EP3C120 needs 1,5GB for 32Bit OS

The Pentium D is not the problem, depending on your compile speed requirements

could you check that there is no " " space in your project directory like "c:\my Folder\"

Hi,

can you run your project on a second PC ? In the past I had a similar problem and it turns out that the memory of the PC was the problem.

Kind regards
