Hello,
I've spent a lot of time searching for documentation on logic design in the Quartus Lite edition and am having little success. I’m using the DE10 and its manual has sections on other Quartus stuff, but I need a step-by-step on the Designer. I found a Quartus Standard Edition User Guide on Intel's download page, but it’s pretty old. So, questions:
- Is there written documentation for the Lite Edition? If so, where?
- If not, how applicable is the Standard Guide?
- Any other tips on getting up to speed?
Thanks in advance,
Bill McDonald

Other than some feature support that is noted (like incremental compilation and Logic Lock regions), Standard and Lite are identical, so all Standard documentation applies to Lite.
I'm not sure what you are referring to as the "Designer." Do you mean Platform Designer?
Besides the User Guides (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/products/design-software/fpga-design/quartus-prime/user-guides.html) check out training. These can help you get started if you are not familiar with Quartus at all: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/training/catalog.html?courseType=Online&language=English&keywords=foundation

Hi sstrell,
I sent the below previously, but it doesn't appear to have gone, so I'm resending.
Many thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for.
What I’m calling “Designer” is the Quartus GUI that allows me to deploy and connect devices, i.e., create graphic logic schematics.
Thanks again,
Bill

For future reference, you're talking about the schematic editor within the Quartus Prime software.
As noted, when I hear "Designer", I think of Platform Designer, the system building design tool also within Quartus.

Got it, thanks. I'm still coming up to speed and learning the extensive vocabulary and acronyms. I'm creating a glossary and have entered this term.
Years ago, I coined an acronym of my own: ASS - Acronym Saturation Sickness.
