Quartus Prime Lite running on Ubuntu 20.04

In case anyone is interested, I found a post on VHDLWhiz that helped me get Quartus ModelSim Starter Edition (should work for any release) on Ubuntu 20.04. It covers adding 32-bit architecture support, installing a number of 32-bit libraries, modifying modelsim's VCO script to force 32-bit, adding a 32-bit library directory, updating the script with the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to said directory, and finally compiling and installing a font library there. Worked reliably on Ubuntu 18.04 as well.

These instructions should be incorporated into Intel's installation documentation.

Hi @torinwalker

Thank for the sharing. This will helps the community that would like to use Quartus ModelSim Starter Edition on Ubuntu 20.04.

Unfortunately, it does not officially supported as mentioned here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/support-resources/download/os-support.html

So this information could not be updated in the Intel's installation documentation.

Best Regards,
Richard Tan
