Hello,
I just installed Quartus Prime Lite 2023.1. I am coming across following error
"Can't open project -- you do not have permission to write to all the files or create new files in the project's database directory"
"
I tried going through the solutions suggested earlier in this forum, but none of them are working.
Creating a new project in some specific location works, but if I copy a different project folder in the same location, it gives this error.
Please suggest if anyone has come across any solution for this.
Thank you

My guess is you are creating a project in a folder directory that need your PC administrator access and the Quartus does not run as administrator.
Create a project in a folder directory that do not require administrator access.

I am also having this issue. I am running Quartus Prime 22.1, and have been using it for several months, compiling and programming. I tried moving a project and QP refused to open it, throwing the "you do not have permission to write to all the files" error pasted in below. It now refuses to open any project, including the original.
I have tried running as administrator, I have tried the compatibility check, and I have tried creating a project on a public network drive.
I am able to open the original project on my personal (as opposed to work) computer. Are there any known issues with recent windows updates? I am using Windows 10 Enterprise 19044.4291
I am also concerned about Microsoft One Drive, which creates invalid path names, but as I said I did try on a network drive with a legal path.
Do you have any advice or known resolutions to this issue?

I recently had some issues with the same error message- it occurred very suddenly in a project that had previously been fully functional. I have had some success re-creating the project in C:\workspace (the only folder on C I can write to) instead of "Documents".
I could not include any of the files from the Documents folder, I had to create new files and copy:paste the old file contents into them. Luckily it is a fairly small project and it was doable. I don't know why the error started and I am not thrilled with the workaround, but my work is no longer blocked.

Quartus does not like network drives or Onedrive. Everything really should be on a local drive.
