Quartus prime lite - Can't create work directory

Hi,

I just started using quartus lite, so I can't understand some technical words.

I'm glad if I get your support.

I opened "New Project Wizard" and filled in the blanks as followings.

Q. What is the working directory for this project?  >> C:\intelFPGA_lite\20.1\sample

And I clicked "next >".  then PC answered,

"Directory "C:\intelFPGA_lite\20.1\sample" does not exist. Do you want to create it?"

I answered "Yes".  then PC answered,

"Can't create working directory "C:\intelFPGA_lite\20.1\sample".

So I would like to know what is the cause of this error message.

If you don't have access to writing to the directory in Windows, you might get this error.  Try putting the project directory at a location you have access to.

Hi sstrell, thanks a lot for your reply.

I changed the location from "C:\intelFGPA_lite\20.1\sample"   to   "C:/intelFGPA_prj/20.1/sample".

Then somehow I successfully created the directory!

Thank you for your advice.
