Hi.

I am using USBBlaster for over a year now with almost no problem...

I have recently re-installed my stationery and my portable.

On my portable, that is win7 32bit system, every thing work like a charm! :)

But on my stationery, that is a 64bit system, my device manager will simply not recognize the USBblaster drivers.... It puts it under "Other devices" with the error "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" Even if I have showed it where the drivers are...

I have read all what I can find on the problems ppl have with Q12 and the USBblaster, but that not the issue for me. My issue is that my win7 64bit will simply not recognize the USBblaster devise... :(

Sorry that I write yet anther thread about USBblaster and win7 64bit. But the last one got blended with Q12

What to do?!

Thanks.

Noam.

Hi there,

I use a similar System (ThinkPad Notebook, Win7 64Bit) - installing the programmer package (additionally to the Q12, i.e. Q12 already installed) solved the Problem for me...

As the search function is no the best in this Forum, I just want to post this again...

"installing the programmer package (additionally to the Q12"

Are you talking about the extra files for the 64bit?

I have installed that and replaced the file in the 64 bit folder inside the altera install, but still, the Device Manager will not recognize the driver.

I connect the USBblaster win try to install it and failed. Then I go in and push "update driver" and point the driver installer to the altera folder... but its fails...:(

I cant see how I can go foreword with out having win recognizing the USBblaster driver.... Or is that irrelevant?

Pleas help...

Hi,

meanwhile there are different descriptions of how to get the USB-Blaster working with 64Bit available...

For me the "easiest" and (as the files are from ALTERA) "safest" option is to download the standalone programmer (ALTERA.com => Download Center => Download individual components => programming Software).

By this the working driver and JTAG server as required for 64Bit is installed...

Installation of the Driver by using the files located in the quartus II Installation Directory does not solve the problem, as these Driver package seems to miss some required files...

Additionally you have to install the Quartus II Software first followed by the programmer package.

Hope that helps
