What's the DNI folder's function?

Hi Guys,

I want to know why the new Quartus Prime need new folder, DNI, after project is compiled? Is there any way to disable this folder's generation?

Or, is there any way to set Quartus not to create so many files into DNI folder? Which can make my project too heavy.

Unfortunately, this is a known issue. Please use the provided solution as a temporary workaround until it is resolved in a future Quartus release.

This is the new database folder that holds compilation information.  No, you can't (and wouldn't want to) prevent its generation.

Hi sstrell,

You mean this folder is the same one as DB folder in old Quartus II? However, why the size of DNI will be  become bigger and bigger after multiple complilation? Are there any settings to make compilation info to be stored in overwriting mode, instead of duplicaton mode? Otherwise, my project folder size will be changed from several houndreds MB to several GB size several weeks later.

Thanks
