altera modelsim starter edition won't work

Hi 

i install on a brand new PC the Quartus II 14.1 (64-bit) that i have a floating license.  

the Quartus work fine. i also install the ModelSim-Altera 10.3c starter edition. 

and i have this message :  

 

"Unable to checkout a license. Make sure your license file  

environment variable are set correctly and then run 'lmdiag' to diagnose the problem."....... 

 

my machine is : win 7 64bit i5 3570 8gb DDR 

 

 

please help

Hi  

so thank you all for the Interest and for the help. the problem was the version when i install the  

ModelSim-Altera 10.1d starter edition that com with the Quartus II 13.1 it's worked flawlessly.  

 

i have a few more problem with the new ip core that was fix with me downgrading to Quartus II 13.1 

and the old and good "Quartus II 13.1 MegaWizard Plug-in Manager" 

 

by the way yes i installed the update for the Quartus 14.1 called "QuartusSetup-14.1.1.190-windows.exe"
