Hi all,

I am having some problems with alteard vendor daemon. The debug.log and diagnostics are all fine except, when I try to compile, it says feature compiler not supported by license. I am having a floating pc license for 25 users. When I do a lmutil lmstat -a -c 28500@lecpc403 (port@server) I get the following message:

C:\altera\70\quartus\bin>lmutil lmstat -a -c 28500@lecpc403

Hi there,

I have have had a similar problem myself, As a first hit I would update your daemons to 9.5 (lmgrd, alterad, and mgcld etc) this may help. These are the lateset and are in the new 7.1 release which is available on the www. Failing that just the deamons are normally avaiable in the downloads section on altera.com, although these may not have been updated yet.

Are there any errors in the debug log from your license server? Perhaps you could cut and paste it in the thread.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have extracted the relevant daemons from 7.1 but the situation has not change except the V9.2 now read V9.5.

The following is the output of debug log:

Just rebooted. No difference. The lmtools.exe diagnostics gives a Flexlm Error of -18,147.

Hello

Humm the output seems rather odd, you should not be seeing the * expires in XXX messages. I would download a clean licnese file from Altera.com, just edit the server name, port and demon lines (to point to 9.5) and then see what happens.

NB on Windows only use notepad to do the edits, wordpad etc can screw up the license.

If you still see a problem then I think you should submit an issue via MySupport on altera.com so someone can take a closer look. (I don't think you should upload your license file here, but this is needed to look further).

Also the post reboot license log would be good to see if you can paste it in.

Hi,

After weeks of fiddling, I think I am coming close to the answers. The expiry date 1-JUL-2038 is not supported by Windows OS. According to numerous posts, all 32 bit machines can only support up to 29-JAN-2038.

Have requested a new license from Altera, will update everyone when I verify this.

cheers,

wongmld
