I have a fresh install of quartus prime std 22.1 on an ubuntu 20.04 system. When I try and add an hps system to a clean design in platform designer it freezes and is unrecoverable. There are no errors or warnings, in fact I get no messages at all. The progress bar just sits and spins.
I have tried a reinstall of quartus22.1std.0.915 as well as ...std.2.922. I can find no information on this. The only post I saw moved to a window's machine and that worked. That is not an option for me.
Are there any ideas or solutions I have missed?

My pc does indeed meet the requirements.
So I tried going back to the 21.1 version of the software. So far it appears to work fine. I can add anything I want to the platform designer including hps. So it appears it may have been a version issue?

What's your target device? Does it freeze when you double-click the IP in the Platform Designer IP Catalog or when you are finished parameterizing the IP?

Target device is a Cyclone V. It freezes when I double click on the IP or select and click add.

Understood. Is revert to prior version feasible? Have you tried latest 23.1std I assume? Does it still freeze?

Reverting to 21.1 will work. I did indeed try 23.1std and it still froze.
