Hi

I am using Quarus Web edition version 7.2. The device is a cyclone 2 which according to the data sheet supports different current settings on output pins, Can anyone explain where this setting can be found?

The setting is accessible either in the Pin Planner (you have to activate the respective column from context menu) or in the Assignment Editor. It's stored as tcl command in the project *.qsf file. The Cyclone II default is maximum curent, which should be typically reduced for most outputs.

The actual used setting can be found in fitter report, resource section, table output pins.
