We are currently designing and selling boards based on the Intel Xeon D-1527, D-1528, D-1537, and D-1559 processors.
We are considering using the Intel C629A chipset by connecting it to our boards via a PCIe connector, specifically to utilize the QAT (QuickAssist Technology) feature.
Could you let us know if there are any potential issues with hardware recognition or software driver support in this configuration?
For your reference, we have previously used the Intel DH8950CL and C628 chipsets in a similar way and were able to use the QAT feature without any issues.
We would appreciate any guidance or clarification you can provide.

Hi jungsoolim,
As mentioned in post https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-QuickAssist-Technology/Lewisburg-Refresh-C629A-Xeon-D-1527-D-1528-D-1537-and-D-1559/m-p/1684507#M588 I just got confirmation that the 629A device was never validated as an accelerator plug in.
It was qualified to be used as a QAT+PCH device only.
It is completely compatible with C629 in all other aspects.
I hope this answers your question.
Regards,
Ronny G
