FRU/SDR not updating

Hi, I'm commissioning a R1208WFTYSR. Successfully ran the update package and the BIOS/BMC/ME have updated OK. However, although the FRU/SDR update ran apparently OK it hasn't populated fully - the second PSU doesn't show up for instance. Any hints?

Thank you for trying out the recommendations provided.

There is not a PSU firmware or update that we can recommend. As you point out, it seems that the PSU might be faulty.

In this scenario, our recommendation is that you replace the PSU if possible.

System Information Retrieval Utility (SysInfo) Installation on UEFI

1. Copy the uncompressed .zip file into a local directory (for example, fs0:\sysinfo).

2. Go to the UEFI folder.

3. Run sysinfo.efi.

Sysinfo logs system information in two log files in the LogFiles folder under the current directory

(sysinfo_log.txt, PCI_log.txt):

sysinfo.efi

Hi,

sysinfo logs attached so version info is in there. Also attached a screenshot of the BMC web console showing only one PSU listed. The same info (only one PSU) is seen using ipmitool to access the BMC.

Hello rzb,

Thank you for providing additional details about your system.

The BMC is key to make sure all the components of the system are healthy. The Field Replaceable Unit/Sensor Data Record (FRUSDR) helps the BMC firmware in monitoring and managing the server. Incorrectly updating the FRUs or SDRs in a server can lead to the BMC not reporting accurate information.

Try Updating the Field Replaceable Unit/Sensor Data Record (FRUSDR) only to obtain accurate Sensor Readings.

1. Login to F2 (BIOS) screen and select Internal EFI shell in the Boot Manager tab. A shell prompt appears on screen.

2. Run map –r to display all the drives available under the shell.

3. Change to the current directory containing the FRUSDR package.

4. Run the nsh script in the FRUSDR folder.

Hi, Already tried rerunning the FRU/SDR update with no change.

However, I tried swapping the PSU out with another (same type). Now rerunning the FRU/SDR update finds 2 PSUs and all is well. And, the suspect PSU isn't recognised in a different chassis either. Looks like this PSU might be faulty, or is there a PSU firmware update or similar?
