ICH10R RAID setup

I am using ICHR10R raid platform on a Supermicro server for exch server

6 1T SATA HDDs

plan is on either

TWO RAID1 drives for boot and FOUR RAID5 for data (partitioned)

or

all SIX in RARD-5 partitioned accordingly

can the controller have one span of RAID1 and one span of RAID5?

Yes you can setup a RAID 1 and RAID 5 on the same controller.
