Inquiry Regarding STLink V3 Programmer for Intel® Server Board S2600WFT

Dear Support Team,

I recently acquired an Intel® Server Board S2600WFT and encountered an issue when attempting to refresh the BIOS using the included STLink V3 programmer. The device displays the error message "No EEPROM/flash device found." After searching, I was unable to locate a replacement programmer for purchase.

Could you please clarify:

  1. - Is the STLink V3 programmer specifically paired with this server board?
  2. - If it is included with the board, how might I obtain a replacement unit?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Best regards,

Mingkai

Hello FPGAXiaoBai,

Greetings!!

The error typically indicates that the you cannot detect the target flash memory or EEPROM chip on the board. This can result from many reasons Incorrect connections or pinout mismatches. Hardware issues with the board or programmer which may also vary.

Intel server boards, including the S2600WFT, support multiple BIOS update and recovery methods that do not require an external programmer:

  • UEFI Shell Method
  • BIOS Recovery Jumper
  • Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Web Console

If you still wish to use the STLink V3 Check Connections ensure all cables and connectors are correctly seated and match the required pinout for your board and flash chip. Update the STLink V3 firmware using the official STMicroelectronics utility, as older firmware may cause detection issues.

The STLink V3 programmer is not specifically paired or uniquely matched to the Intel® Server Board S2600WFT. It may have been provided as part of a custom kit or by a third party, but it is not an Intel-manufactured or board-specific accessory. If your S2600WFT board was supplied with an STLink V3 programmer, it was likely included through a specific vendor bundle or third-party kit, rather than as a standard Intel offering.

For further reference, you may review the official specifications of the S2600WFT board at the following link:

Hello vish1,

Thank you for the reply!

I recently rechecked the link and noticed that one of the STLink wires was disconnected. I'll search for a replacement on a third-party platform.

Best regards,

Mingkai
