Hi all,
I recently upgraded the firmware of a working S2600CP2 server running VMWare ESXi 5.5 build 1474528 and VMWare now gets stuck on the initialization of ACPI. After about a minute or two of being stuck on the initialization of ACPI, the server reboots as if the reset button was pushed on the front of the server, basically resulting in a boot-loop.
System BIOS - 02.02.0002
ME Firmware - 02.01.07.328
BMC Firmware - 01.20 r5446
FRUSDR - 1.10

Interesting idea Goutam.Nagella.
It never occurred to me that the ancient VGA monitor might not be compatible. The latest firmware that you linked was the firmware that I tried but it would not work. I will try the new version again this weekend with an LCD monitor to see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion and I will report my progress back to the group.
Well Goutam.Nagella, thanks for the suggestion, but changing the monitor didn't fix the issue. I also verified once again that the setting for MMIO above 4GB was disabled.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I would rather have the LCD monitor connected to the server than the CRT, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. :-)
If there is anyone else who has any ideas, I would love to hear them.
Thanks.
I would suggest contacting http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Intel® Customer Support team to follow up this situation as I know you have been working on this situation for quite some time.
