Hello experts,
He wants to replace 8 ~ 10 Desktop PCs with one server machine running with a Virtual Machine on the Linux host server.
The Linux host will be,
* XEON multi core (it will be a 32C/64T CPU) workstation
* As much amount of RAM for running 8 ~ 10 VMs of Windows 10 guest OS at the same time
* For each VMs, NO dedicated display output is required (all VMs can be controlled from the host display monitor)
The VM guest Windows,
* Windows 10
* No heavy processing workload (one or two CPU assignment for each VM will be fine)
* Major workload is Ethernet network data communications
So, the questions are,
[1] What host OS will be recommended for this use case, Linux(Ubuntu)? or Windows?
[2] What kind of VM program will be best, cost and performance wise? KVM? or VirtualBox? or else?
[3] Is there any limitation of the VM guest OS count of running at the same time?
Thanks and regards,
Hayden Kim
