icc: error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license

Hi,

I have been trying to install the Intel Parallel Studio for linux and have finally reached the end of my abilities.  I have all packages installed, but I get the following when I try to run icc -v:

Error: A license for Comp-CL is not available (-5,357).

Make sure that a license file is being used that contains a license
for the requested feature.  If your license requires a license server,
make sure that the server is using the right license file (usually,
this would be the same license file that is being used by this
application), and make sure that you have not changed the license
file since starting the server.

License file(s) used were (in this order):
    1.  Trusted Storage
**  2.  /opt/intel/licenses/l_VTV6XCCK.lic
**  3.  /opt/intel/compilers_and_libraries_2016.1.150/linux/bin/intel64/../../Licenses
**  4.  /home/jhstagge/Licenses/NCOM_L___3X2P-VTV6XCCK_1.lic
**  5.  /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses
**  6.  /opt/intel/compilers_and_libraries_2016.1.150/linux/bin/intel64/*.lic

icc: error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license

I have checked my mac address, activated the software, and put the license files in the necessary directory.  I've also seen the following (https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-math-kernel-library/topic/604957?wapkw=license%20for%20Comp-CL) and have changed permissions on this folder to allow full access.  I've also sent my output to a log file as recommended here (https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-software-development-products-download-registration-licensing/topic/597155?wapkw=icc%3A%20error%20%2310052%3A%20could%20not%20checkout%20FLEXlm%20license).

I feel like I am so close.  Can anyone help me get up and running with MKL licensing?

Thanks!

Hi james

If you have " also sent my output to a log file as recommended here (https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-software-development-produ...).",  i guess the license support team will reply you about the exact problem.

Just one comments:

1) I checked your license and saw you had one performance library license, which is for MKL/MKl/DAAL/TBB etc,  can't be for Intel Parallel Studio for linux and Intel Compiler install.  Could you please tell the name of the install package?

Error: A license for Comp-CL is not available (-5,357)

2) it is  not floating license,  So it should be not related FLEXlm license.

Anyway, if you'd like install MKL for Linux with the current license,  may you please download this package

http://registrationcenter-download.intel.com/akdlm/irc_nas/8374/l_mkl_11.3.1.150.tgz

and let us know if it can be installed.

Best Regards,

Ying

Thank you very much for the response.  I should have been more specific.  I am working in Arch Linux and have installed using the following package:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/intel-mkl/

which installs the full Intel Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition as a dependency:

https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/intel-parallel-studio-xe/?comments=all

Is the Cluster Edition part of the problem?

I will try to install the mkl file from the link you sent.

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for letting us know.  But  MKL shoud be self-contained, so it is not necessary for install   " Intel Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition" .

Intel Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition will require parallel studio XE license,  which you have to get one license from  https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-parallel-studio-xe

Best Regards,

Ying
