My experience with AHCI drivers is that they have to bin integrated into the OS during install. Since this requires a floppy in XP, which most of us don;t have, you can inject the drivers into the OS using tools like nlite (http://nliteos.com/ http://nliteos.com/), and build yourself a custom XP install disk. I've tried multiple times to install the AHCI afterwards and its never worked for me.

I have used nlite (http://nliteos.com/ http://nliteos.com/) to inject the AHCI drivers into the XP OS and create a new install disc. This is the only way I've gotten the AHCI drivers to install properly.

The 1TB drives need to have the WD Align utility from Western Digital run on them, otherwise your perfomance will be horrible.

Hey there, i see the problem you facing. It must be quite frustrating.

As per my opinion, i think the two recommendations below might help

1-Check your WD hard disk for jumper settings. (not master slave jumper) The jumpers might "LIMIT" the hard disk read speed under some settings. Make sure that if thats the case, you put the jumper settings to the max bandwidth. Eg. there can be settings to limit the hdd's read/write speed to 1.5gbps or 3gbps (although the controllers on Motherboard wont let your hdd run at the speed of 1.5gbps or 3gbps). Since its a new hdd, it might have such setting options. Check them thoroughly

2-Also it turns out that your mother board and processor are not totally compatible with each other, and this might lead to such problems. More info on compatibility with DH55TC can be found at http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?BoardName=DH55TC http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?BoardName=DH55TC

Hope this will help.
