Intel EMA Database - Initial Installation Question

I just wanted to make sure that I was understanding the documentation correctly, when setting up Intel EMA, we just need accounts on a server licensed with Microsoft SQL that can create the database, then when running the installer, we fill out the boxes with the required information and that kicks off the database creation? Or should I create the database beforehand then use those accounts so that Intel EMA can modify the DB as needed?

Hello Holden jolley,

Greeting from intel!

Hope you are doing well,

Install the Microsoft SQL Server*. The database may run on a separate server on the network or on the same system as the Intel EMA Server. For demonstration or test purposes, Microsoft SQL Server Express edition can be used if installed with Advanced Features. For production environments, we recommend using Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise.

  • During the Intel EMA installation, the system will automatically detect the SQL Server.
  • EMA will then create its own database within the SQL Server environment, storing all necessary management data for endpoints and configurations.
