Hello There!
We have a Dell Optiplex 5000 PC with intel vpro but the hardware kvm not working, server reporting this:
"This feature is not supported on devices with Intel® Standard Manageability (ISM). It requires Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel AMT)."
I have installed a Intel EMA server on Win Server 2016 VM with SQLexpress.
Intel AMT enabled in BIOS, provisioned via ema agent and auto amt setup is enabled.
After provisioning the hardware kvm is working for a hour then it's disabled..
What did i wrong?
Thx for ur help!

Hello Tamas,
Greetings!
The Intel vPro chip is embedded directly within the motherboard chipset. Intel vPro technology is supported exclusively on compatible Intel processors, motherboards, and network cards (both wired and wireless). However, upgrading from Essential to Enterprise requires specific hardware, and unfortunately, it is not possible.
Regards,
Vijay N.

Hello altair5462,
The Intel® EMA Agent can be installed as a stand-alone application on the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Microsoft Windows 11
The Intel® EMA Server is compatible with the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019
Note: The getPFX API necessitates the Intel® EMA server to be installed on Windows Server 2019 or later.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2022
Note: By default, crypto for Intel ME 11 systems is disabled on Windows Server 2022.
To ensure a smooth setup and provisioning process, could you please provide the following information:
- SQL version
- Location of both (physical or virtual)
- Will they be on the same server machine?
- Authentication mode: Local, Azure AD, or Windows AD
- Intel® EMA software version
- Number of endpoints to be provisioned
- Location of endpoints: local or remote
This information will help us tailor our services to your needs. Thank you for your assistance, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Vishal

Hi Toth,
Good day.
There are two versions of Intel® vPro: **Essentials** and **Full Active Management Technology (AMT)**.
The Essentials option offers fewer features, one of which is KVM, accessible through the Hardware Manageability tab (when CIRA is connected).
KVM is possible while the OS is running on the machine. To use it, go to the Desktop tab and select "Connect." On some machines, KVM via Hardware Manageability is also available while the OS is running.
You can find a full comparison of features for both versions here:
I understand KVM was working previously. Please ensure the OS is running on the endpoint, refresh the EMA console, and confirm that CIRA shows as "Connected" in the Endpoint General tab.
If further assistance is needed, please confirm whether you've updated the EMA version. Also, did you provision the endpoints in Client Control Mode (CCM) or Admin Control Mode (ACM)?

Suneesh

Hi Suneesh!
In the meantime we discovered we have only vpro essential but we want the enterprise edition (because of oobm and other features)
Can we upgrade it ? Our CPU is eligble for vpro enterprise(i5-12500). For now we provisioned via ccm but in the future we want to use cert.
Thanks for your answer in advance!
Regard,
Tamás
