LMS service high CPU, stuck in stopping state

Hello,

Yesterday an auto-update occurred and I saw a flash of a CMD window show it was updating Intel ME. Since then the LMS service will work start running continually at around 35%. In searching the forums I found mention of the gms.log file and opened it. It show that the LMS service seems to be working fine and at the time it starts using high CPU and the service shows a status of stopping.

Below is a sample from the log that shows the sequence of events that occur. Once it breaks I have to force an End Task or restart. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Hi,

I don't know what make and model of system this is occurring on. Have you checked the manufacturers web site to see if they have an updated version of ME available for your system and have you installed that?

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. This is occurring on a Lenovo ThinkPad. The issue started the same day an update to ME occurred. I checked Lenovo's website and they had another version that was even newer and when I installed that and rebooted I now have the service: intel PPT EK Recertification Service running. It has now been close to two hours and this service is still running around 35% CPU. Is this normal, or is something else now broken?

If you can download the Windows Performance Recorder and capture the information and attach this to your ticket, which I gave you in the private message, this will help us to analyze the data:

Hello Michael,

I replied to your pprivate message, but guessing you didn't see it. I have not been able to locate my ticket to update. I went to the website you provide but I can not find anywhere to view tickets or update them.
