Processor Compatability

We have a

Motherboard manufacturer's name: ASUS IPILP-LC

HP/Compaq name: Lancaster8-GL6

Socket 775

533 MHz, 800 MHz (processor dependent)

Intel 945GC Chipset

  • System BIOS core brand: AMI

     

  • Keyboard combination to used to enter BIOS: F10

     

We upgraded the processor to an Intel E8500 because someone told us it was compatible. It turns on but the monitor says "no signal" I cleared the CMOS and BIOS passwords but still no luck. Any suggestions or is this processor just incompatible with this motherboard?
