I am new to the vPro technology but have gone through this document here to setup an HP DC7900 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=6&ved=0CB8QFjAF&url=http://www.icare.hp.com.cn/TechCenter_StaticArticle/37022/44474.pdf&rct=j&q=setup+vpro&ei=RAkgS8yGC4W1tgeP27SeCg&usg=AFQjCNHyNwnX8_hTyHluJwTfTyqmOsNhhg&sig2=T3XQ9K6hjFp4bSqVAY_zWA http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=6&ved=0CB8QFjAF&url=http://www.icare.hp.com.cn/TechCenter_StaticArticle/37022/44474.pdf&rct=j&q=setup+vpro&ei=RAkgS8yGC4W1tgeP27SeCg&usg=AFQjCNHyNwnX8_hTyHluJwTfTyqmOsNhhg&sig2=T3XQ9K6hjFp4bSqVAY_zWA

I am trying to use a tool called Radmin to remote control the BIOS of the machine but are not able to connect. I have configured vPro through the (MEBx) Setup and left the TCPIP to DHCP. So I believe the ip address to get into the machine through the (MEBx) is the same as if it were booted up correct?

Pardon my lack of knowledge as I am still learning this product. This is a free tool correct?

So I downloaded the Manageability Commander Tool and it does pickup that machine, I have already setup a HOSTNAME for that computer but I still can not connect.

Well I managed to at least get connected and are able to remote into the BIOS. I had to provision to "Small Business".

What limitations am I subject to by using the "Small Business" option?

It seems I can do a "Cold Shutdown" but I can't power it back on.

Hi there - Small Business provisioning mode equals Basic mode. Here's a doc that explains the difference between the modes: /docs/DOC-1684 http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-1684. You can also find some good info in our Getting Started wiki: /docs/DOC-3159 http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-3159

If you're unable to power a system back on, after powering it off, it's possible that your ME Power State setting is set to shut off the ME in a S5 power state. This setting should be available in the MEBx.

Cheers,
