If your prototype will be based on the R200 camera, you could purchase the Intel Aero Vision Accessory Kit for $149. It includes the integrated board version of the R200, and two other cameras (an 8 megapixel RGB camera and a VGA camera).

Camera boards, and individual parts of those boards, can also be ordered through any Intel approved distributor in your location.

Thanks for bringing up this question! I’ve also been exploring the idea of using Intel RealSense without the housing, since it can be more convenient for custom hardware projects where space and design flexibility matter. I’m curious to know whether Intel provides the bare module directly or if there are specific resellers that carry it as a standalone component. If anyone here has experience purchasing the RealSense modules without the casing, it would be great to hear about recommended suppliers, ordering options, or any important considerations (like warranty or integration support). I recently came across some discussions while browsing resources like estateagentsilford, which got me thinking more about how people find alternative suppliers, so any detailed guidance or shared experiences here would be really useful.

Thanks for starting this discussion! I’ve also been looking into the possibility of using Intel RealSense modules without the housing, since that can be really helpful for custom builds where space and flexibility are key. I’m wondering if Intel actually offers the bare modules directly, or if they’re only available through certain resellers. If anyone has experience purchasing RealSense in this form, I’d really appreciate hearing about which suppliers you’ve used, what the ordering process was like, and whether there are things to watch out for (such as warranty or integration support).
