Difference between Intel Media SDK and Intel Media SDK for Windows Server

After purchasing the Intel Media SDK for Linux Servers and beeing pretty disappointed that it does not support Interlaced encoding I have seen that there is a Intel Media SDK for Windows Servers.

What is the difference of it compared to the standard Intel Media SDK, exept the hard requirement for Direct X 11.1?

Also it requires a Xeon E3-1285 CPU - does the E3-1285 CPU provides any benefits over the E3-1245 CPU for Video encoding?

Hi Artem,

The server version of the Windows Media SDK has one specific difference. The package combines the SDK dispatcher and an Intel graphics driver specifically validation for Windows Server 2012 and Xeon platforms.   (Note that, to develop applications the intent is that the developer will download the regular Windows Media SDK which includes samples, include files and tools etc.)

The primary target for the server validation is the 1285 Xeon processors. But in theory the 1245 processor should work also.

Regarding interlaced H.264 encode on Linux. This feature will be available very soon as part of new release of the Linux SDK/driver kit.
