Infrared Image out of focus

I use RealSense D415 indoors to shoot. At a distance(500-800mm) that is in focus with a color camera, the infrared camera is not in focus. Are there any conditions that tend to blur the thermal image? Please let me know if there is a way to get the infrared camera to focus.
