The Processor you mentioned is in multi Core processor. In fact it is an 8 core Xeon processor with 16 threads.

I refer to Multi-Chip Module (MCM) as defined in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-chip_module Multi-chip module - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I need this information to calculate the correct number of processors to license a software.

Thanks for the clarifications. I got it now.

At this point all E3, E5, and almost all E7 processors are single Chip units. In your case, the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2650 v2 is a Single Chip processor.

Thanks for waiting. Please note that at this point there is no document that contain this information; however, you can use this tread as an Intel official response clarifying and certifying that the processor is mention is a Single Chip processor.

Also it is important to say that if the processor is a MCM it will be mentioned in the datasheet so in case it is not there you can assume it is Single Chip Module.
