Burning smell from processor?

Hi, I recently put thermal paste on my processor and somehow a little bit of it got onto the pins, I cleaned it up with rubbin alcohol and a microfiber towel. I placed it back, waited a little bit and started the computer. Now when I start it I can smell a light burning smell, could it be because of the thermal that got on the pins or something else? Before that i also blew the air out of my computer with compressed air, could that be the cause? Help pelase :)

Who knows what the cause is. You were the only one there. If the processor still works, count yourself lucky.
