CPU temperatures extremely hot (i5 3570k ivy bridge)

Hello, I am using a i5 3570k ivy bridge processor which is sufficient for me and handles video games well. I first had a Dh61WW  motherboard but due to issues of it not connecting with my monitor I changed it to a Zebronics H61m.2 Motherboard. Everything is going fine except my Processor temps reaching high temperatures. I see 105°celsius for max and 99°celsius min in a game called Euro Truck Simulator 2. I am using a h61 CPU cooler which is stock with two exhaust fans in a desktop like cabinet. I would request you to advise me on what to do if my temps are running hot.

It sounds like your cooler is providing insufficient cooling. There are a lot of possible causes for this,

  • The Thermal Interface Material (TIM, heatsink paste) is insufficient or improperly installed. [Hint: You replaced the TIM during the transfer to the new motherboard, didn't you? It should be replaced anytime that the heatsink is removed from the processor, even if immediately reinstalled.]
  • The heatsink-fan unit is improperly attached to the motherboard and not being evenly held against the processor with the appropriate level of pressure.
  • The heatsink-fan unit is defective and not dissipating the appropriate amount of heat.
  • The motherboard BIOS' configuration for the fan speed controller is incorrect or insufficient.

P.S. If you have two fans, best to have one pulling cool air into the chassis and one exhausting hot air from the chassis.
