ChipSet HM70 Compatibilidad Real?

Gracias.

Rodrico,

The B960 may be compatible. It depends upon whether the BIOS and ME F/W include support for 2nd generation Core processors (like the Sandy Bridge processors). We can't answer this question. Only your laptop manufacturer can tell you whether they have included support.

Hope this helps,

Hello RodrigoMucha,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In this case, there is nothing wrong with the list of compatibility, the list only shows some examples of processors has tested with this chipset but all of them. The reason is that this is for a mobile processor, meaning that the manufacturer (HP, DELL, TOSHIBA, etc) takes the processor and the chipset and customize it (the chipset), and add or remove features, perform/create a BIOS that can support that specific processor.

In other words, the manufacturer (Toshiba in this case) is who can provide you with compatibility based on the motherboard and BIOS (the ones that support and manage the processor and the whole unit). Intel does not recommend any kind of hardware changes in a laptop, but if you want to know about the compatibility on this laptop I advise you to get in contact with Toshiba or their forums to get more details.

Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
