On what?   A 50-ton generator, or a computer?   If computer, then the answer is NO.

What it does mean, however, is that power is abruptly yanked from all attached drives and thus corruption of the data on the drives is possible. It can also cause physical failures in older spinning media drives.

They would have be very old spinning media drives.
