Does the warranty on I7 retail processors cover the processor being fried during installation?

I installed a brand new I7-5820k in my new computer, it would not boot up at all. i checked all the components in a different computer and they all worked. there was a tiny bit of thermal paste on the pads of the cpu when i checked it which i guess fried it. does the warranty cover that?
