Extreme Tuning Utility 7.14.2.14 not working

Dear Support Team.

I wanted to update my XTU to the latest version, since temperature sensors weren't working anymore and it showed my in the application, that there is a newer version.

So I clicked on the link, downloaded the latest version, installed it, restarted my computer, but it didn't start. I get the loading image but then it freezes. It just stops loading it. I can use the rest of my computer perfectly fine, but XTU doesn't start.

Uninstalled and installed it several times, always same result! Loading image, blue circle that it is loading, but then it stops and the image just keeps showing. Even after 30 mins it is in that state.

Any ideas of how to fix that?

Thanks for your time,

Chris

Hello Chris1404,

  1. Intel® XTU only supports unlocked processors. These are K/KF SKUs or Intel Core X-series processors. Installing Intel® XTU on a locked processor system may encounter unexpected issues.
  2. Core Isolation Memory Integrity, Hyper-V, and Virtual Machine State are incompatible with Intel® XTU. Intel® XTU is unable to function when these features are enabled.
  3. If this is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) system, check OEM BIOS settings, as some OEMs are using their own overclocking tools and may have a compatibility issue with Intel® XTU.
  4. Always remove old versions of Intel® XTU and delete all Intel® XTU folders before upgrading to the latest Intel® XTU version. Make sure the OS version is supported by the latest Intel® XTU.

To better understand your system's configuration, we kindly request that you download the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software.

  • You can find the download link here:

Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

  • Here's a quick guide on using the Intel SSU:
  1. Download and launch SSU.exe.
  2. Check the box for "Everything."
  • When the scanning is complete, click "Next."
  • Click "Save."

  • We would also like to clarify where did you download the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility application, is it from Intel website? If not, please specify.

  • If possible, can you provide a screenshot of the issue you're encountering?

Hey Dean.

Thank you for your respond. I ran the SSU.exe, where do you want me to post the result? Can I just attach it here or does it include personal information?

To your other questions: If downloaded it directly from intel. I used the link the old XTU tool i was running, which was telling me that there was an update.

About the screenshot, I will add one but there isn't much to see. Only a loading screen that never ends which is my issue. I can't start XTU because the loading screen is shown the whole time. It never passes it and starts the application. But the system doesn't freeze or anything. I can use everything else just fine.

Thanks for your time,

Chris
