Hi, As the microcode updates for Intel CPUs are only going to be available for CPUs less than 5 years old I assume my I5-3470 is effectively junked by the Spectre and Meltdown issues. A perfectly operating computer may have to be trashed because there is no microcode update.
Might I suggest that Intel puts away its corporate head for a short while and rescue it previous customers who if they can't be helped will probably buy an AMD chip in the future. It seems they are slightly less susceptible to these issues.
No situation is perfect but how about extending the 5 years by a couple of years??
Regards Steve

Hi Steveis2: You are very welcome.
Yes, both processors are listed in our web site:

Hi,
Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.
I have scrolled through the list and can find a reference to a I5-3470T but not the I5-3470 itself. Would the code for the I5-3470T work for the I5-3470?
Finally is there a text list of processors for which there is an update available so that it's possible to search through it rather than having to scroll down keeping an eagle eye open.
Regards Steve
There are quite a few processors that are on the list, but for which microcode updates are actually not in the update file.
This is particularly annoying for Xeon 56xx users like me, who have no clue when and whether they will get updates.
Every day without update will make people more open to buy AMD instead of intel processors in future.
Intel committed to delivering all fixes by the end of the month. Any requests for information about missing microcode, microcode orders, etc. short of then are premature and a waste of everyone's time.
Intel Customer Support is not going to be able to provide you with any better answers; all they can do it point you to the primary web page.
