INTEL CPU ATOM N280 max. supporting RAM

Hi ,

I have an old HP mini laptop with INTEL CPU ATOM N280.

I want to upgrade the same for better performance and for optimum utility.

It will be helpful if  expert/s comment on the maximum RAM that can be supported by this processor and want to know if it can support windows 10 (32/64 bit etc).

At present I am using Windows 7  (32bit)

The Atom N280 works with the 82945GSE Graphics and Memory Controller. The memory controller supports a maximum of 2GB of memory. The graphics controller was never supported on Windows 10. Microsoft's graphics compatibility driver might work with this controller, but its performance and support level is pretty poor (of course, it should offer better support than Windows 7's did).

Frankly, I am doubtful that upgrading to 32-bit Windows 10 is going to garner you any better performance. Upgrade the memory to 2GB is going to make the biggest difference (unless you already have 2GB installed).
