Hello,
I just bought an i7-950, 3,06GHz. I installed the default fan, with default thermal grease. no overcloaking.
running idle :
CPU 37°C
running 3Dsmax 2011 full render after only 5 mins :
CPU 95°C
SPECS :
Motherboard Sabertooth X58
2x4Go Vengeance CORSAIR DDR3 1666MHz
Nvidia GTX260
CORSAIR GS700
Is this normal ? Can I keep running with such high temperatures ?
Sorry for my poor english.

The maximum recommended temperature for this processor is 67.9 degrees Celsius as showing here:

I would suggest installing the latest BIOS version for your motherboard, and also testing the processor on another motherboard (could be on a friend's motherboard, or taking the processor to a local computer store) to determine if the same thermal issue happens.
If the issue follows the processor, please contact the place of purchase or you can contact Intel Customer Support at: 916-377-700
