Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) failing to install:

Setup Failed

The same message I've seen over thirty attempts after trying to update my existing (and working) XTU installation.

I've tried running the XTUSetup executable as admin, extracting the Intel_XtuInstaller.msi and running it separately to attempt a manual installation, reinstalling the VC redist, toggling VBS and other related options just in case, but this is what I see every time I try to install XTU.

In this screenshot in particular, I tried pointing the dialogue to C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{C22D3C4A-B53F-42F5-A1DD-DB577FCD7745}v7.14.2.45 because it had erroneously pointed to a different folder starting with "{906 ..." while supposedly looking for the specified MSI. But even manually pointing it, this dialogue persisted.

Also, the fact that clicking the "log file" button opens to the default Windows notepad is beyond infuriating, particularly because the path to that file is inaccessible except through manually punching in the file path from the tooltip that appears on the tab for the log file. I should be able to have my default app (Notepad++) open a godforsaken log file.

This software was working flawlessly prior to the last hour, and in an attempt to be generous to software developers, I decided I should update it to catch updates. What a mistake!

I've tried everything on these forums and elsewhere attempting to rectify whatever problem is preventing an MSI file from being found despite existing in broad daylight in my file explorer.

If I have to reinstall Windows just to resolve this, despite running through all relevant repair processes, I'll be rather unhappy with the quality of your programs.

There are no drivers, services, or files that reference (Intel's) XTU or Extreme Tuning Utility.
