I have an Asus B660M Plus D4 motherboard. I contacted them too, but they couldn't do anything. When I first bought it, I was able to overclock on BIOS version 1009, but after some upgrades, my PC started acting up a bit. So I updated to a more recent version, which fixed the bugs — but now the CPU overclocking option is completely gone, both in the BIOS and through apps like Intel XTU. Is there any way to “unlock” the overclocking again?

Hello Play4Tv,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand that before, you were able to overclock your system, but after some upgrades, you are not able to overclock anymore.
To further investigate, kindly provide the necessary information:
- Screenshot of the XTU Panel
- What is the version of the Intel XTU that you are currently using?
- Is Intel Turbo Boost currently enabled on your BIOS Settings?
- How frequent do you overclock your CPU
- Have you tried a different motherboard?
To assist us in analyzing the details of your system and addressing the issue effectively, we kindly ask you to generate a System Support Utility (SSU) report. This report will provide us with comprehensive information about your system's configuration, helping us identify any potential incompatibilities or issues.
To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*.
I look forward to your response!

I'm currently using version 7.14.2.14 of XTU. Intel Turbo Boost is enabled, but even when disabled, nothing changes. I no longer overclock my CPU because it's no longer possible any overclocking options in the BIOS or in software are completely missing. Before, I used to overclock almost every time I was going to play, around twice a day, and it would run for about 3 to 4 hours per day with overclock. This lasted for about two weeks until my PC started having some issues after a few upgrades, so I updated the BIOS. That fixed the problems, as I mentioned, but since then, the overclocking option disappeared from everything. I’ve already tested with a different motherboard, and my technician also tested it, and the overclocking options were available there.

Hello Play4Tv,
Thank you for patiently waiting.
The current motherboard that you are currently using is not eligible for processor overclocking in the first place. However, it allows memory overclocking.
If you are using a Z or X series chipset, then overclocking is undoubtedly available. If processor overclocking was available in the past by your motherboard, then it may be possible that it was a bug by ASUS addressed by ASUS with their newer updates.
To further investigate, please clarify the make and model of the motherboard that was used to troubleshoot the issue.
I look forward to your response!
Best Regards,
Robbie R.

Hello Play4Tv,
Thank you for your response. Please understand that the B660M Plus D4 motherboard is part of the B660 chipset family, which generally does not support overclocking.
Overclocking capabilities are typically reserved for the Z series chipsets such as the Z690, which are designed to allow CPU multipliers and other settings to increase performance beyond standard specifications.
The B660 chipset is designed for mainstream users who prioritize stability and reliability over the ability to overclock.
If you have further questions, please let me know.
