Hi there,
I am now a bit worried with my RAM purchase the other week as apparently using XMP at 6400 MHZ could void my CPU warranty as the i9 13900kf has a max supported RAM speed of 5600 MHZ, is this true? If so what should I do? Haven't built my system yet though just want confirmation and advice before I proceed to avoid voiding my warranty.
Many thanks,
Shark_2ooth

Yes, absolutely correct. Using XMP profiles to attain higher bus clock frequencies is considered a form of overclocking and, as with any other form, can result in warranty void. Intel only validates operation to certain bus clock frequencies and higher frequencies (a) are not warranted to work and (b) could have a detrimental effect on the lifetime of the processor. Remember too that operation at higher frequencies is motherboard-dependent and hinges upon its BIOS capabilities (memory training code) as well as the motherboards' support (isolation, etc.) for operation at these frequencies.
Hope this helps,

So what would you recommend I do, leave it at default at 4800 mhz or make it run at 5600 mhz?
