What kind of cooler can I use with sandy bridge I7-2600k

Will a COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus be compatitble with the upcoming sandy bridge I7-2600k chip. I intend on buying this chip when it comeout in january with the new LGA 1055 mobo. I see a great deal on this cooler and want to buy it now. is there any information out there to identify if this cooler will fit on these mobo's with this chip installed. I cant find any information out there. I know the chip will probably come with its own heatsink but I really like this one. Thakn you in advance for any information you may have.

Check with Coursair about the H-70 , SYS. H2O is the best way to go .

but if the h70 is likely to be compatible wouldn't the cooler master http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?category_id=1623&product_id=2923 Hyper 212 Plus? they are both compatible with the same sockets know, so presumably and I what I am hoping the lga 1155 will have the same hole alignment as one of the current sockets? what so you think, has the been any announcement from Gigabyte or Asus who have recently announced their sandy bridge mobo's? have they indicated which coolers will fit?

Man did you look at the corsair H2o sys.???? I've got both the H-50 on a QX9650 1330watt , and a Xeon X3380 95watt . Both stay at 39c at ildle and 48c under full load . It's no contest the H2o sys. is the way to go IF you have the room in your case .

Man think of up-grades later on Go with the H-70 if you have the room , you will be good for years to come , Yes they are $$$ but they last and are Maint. Free.

Given that the i7-2600k CPU has a 95W TDP, super-coolers like the H70 might be overkill, but of course would keep it plenty cool. Don't forget that jj's case may not be able to accommodate an H70. Plus jj seems to be trying to save money, and may not be a uber-nerd that wants to fool around with liquid cooling.

An article I read on a PC hardware review site predicted that the Sandy Bridge CPUs might signal the end of after market CPU coolers. While it might be a bit early for that, they may have a case.

BTW jj, George's post answered your question, and a short synopsis of that is if the Hyper 212 will fit on socket 1156, it will fit on your socket 1155 CPU. The '212 will be more than adequate for your CPU, better than the stock cooler, but certainly it is possible to do better.

That would depend on your motherboard specifications. Make sure your mobo supports a LGA 1156 cooler and your good to go

I have my Core i7 2600K (OC 4.2 ghz) + AsRock 4Extreme P67 running with that same cooler

I looked at the cool master , LOL , If you want this machine to last more than two years , Please take another look at the cousair H-70. When you spend $$$$$ for a V-12 motor you don't put a Pinto Radiator in it to cool it.

I just finished building a system DP67BG and Core I7 2600Kand I am using the CoolerMasterHyper 212 plus and my temps are 93degress (f).Can't ask for much more. Now I have to wait on Intelfor MB replacement when it becomes available.

No I do not work for CM ??? Cool Master ??? , I'v just had a lot of experience in cooling high watt CPUs. Two of the ones I use are 130 watt.

Hi Guest...You are right guest in one way and that cpu cooler is not the best...I actually buy coolermaster cases,but I bypassed that V8 cpu cooler and all the rest from coolermaster,also other brand names...I went for the ones that will work...Like Thermalright Ultra 120 (The original and still the best...(I also have the all copper one by Thermalright)...) and the top dog Noctua cpu coolers (Noctua NH-D14 cpu cooler...(that contains bracket,fans & all)...

Hi...This is too easy for me to answer...For a start the LGA 1155 pinset socket number 2nd generation core i7,i5 for desk top all use the same cpu coolers as the 1st geration core i3,i5 and i7 with the LGA 1156 pinset socket number...First of all you can use the same back plate that the LGA 1156 cpu fan coolers use for the LGA 1155 new sandy bridge desk top models...Second of all you can use an upper middle class to high (extreme) class cpu cooler with the socket on the box saying for use with LGA 1156 processor models e.g.:- 1) Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme (does not have fan or fans included,but this is no problem at all...You can order or buy fans from your local PC Hardware shop,120mm will do plus mounting brackets for fans also for this model...Mine came only with LGA 775 mounting brackets,so you will have to order the LGA 1156(LGA 1155 can also use)...I bought the LGA 1366 bolt through mounting brackets for my old computer which I do not even overclock,but is so cool that it only reaches 35 degrees celcius on average...Even on a hot day...I live in Sydney,Australia...)...2) Noctua NH-D14 cpu cooler (does come with fans and mounting bracket for both the LGA 1366 and LGA 1156 pinset socket number)...Also remember to have a larger size case to put these products in...I have my self got the Cooler Master CM692 which would have the least width that you would want in a PC case or you can get larger e.g.:- 210mm in width may do,but I would suggest 220mm in width for case and not the carton box that it comes within...Have a good shopping trip and beyond...
