Microsoft have said that "Skylake" is the last platform on which they will support Windows 7. Platforms from Kaby lake onward will not have Windows 7 support. What I want to know is: Does "Skylake" include the unreleased HEDT Skylake-X parts? This will effect whether I buy Broadwell-E now, or wait for Skylake-X.

Hello Sauntache:
In regard to your inquiry, I just wanted to let you know that since the Intel® Skylake-X processors are still an unreleased product, at this moment we do not have that information available yet, so, to be honest with you, we do not know if they are going to support Windows® 7 or not, let me apologize for that.
Even though there is no official date when they will be released, it seems that it will be on 2017, based on that fact, it is very unlikely that they will support Windows® 7, but as I mentioned before, that is not for sure.
Once again, let me apologize for any inconvenience.
Any questions, please let me know.
Alberto
